What went wrong?
If you copy and paste text with references into a Note, the footnote references will not be superscripted and the source will be displayed. Whereas if you use a clipper extension to download the same text as a Markdown file into your vault, the references will be superscripted and the source will not be displayed until you click it.

Steps:
- copy the first few paragraphs of the Wikipedia source below
- paste it into a Note
- observe that the reference will not be superscripted
Expected Result:
The footnote references should be superscripted and the source not displayed.
